It’s really important that students engage in everything that they do.

As an international school we will always take part in great events all through the year. We have recently had our Halloween and here you can see one example of how our staff genuinely and seriously care about our students.
Another example from Halloween again was the staff and the students were interacting. Because it’s really important that people enjoy being with us. They enjoyed the time and had fun as well as working hard and learning.
A feature of what we do which is different from that within the Chinese system is that all of our children will do practical science. You can see children in the science laboratory and it’s really important that they engage in everything that they do.
Here you see grade two students again doing practical work based on magnets actually. They are working from a textbook, but also learning by doing and this is really important to us.
Again, a feature of Cambridge science is investigation, where children are learning by finding things out from real life situations. And so what we did, in this case, was to take the children outside and they were searching for “mini-beasts” that they had previously studied using pictures then searching for them in our school grounds.
Also with older students it is really important to use computers as part of their research in almost everything they do. Here we have grade seven and eight students using computers as part of their lessons.
As teachers, it is our duty to provide the moral education for our children. This is so important. Here what you see is an example when the children were learning about safety in science and we were wearing safety goggles and actually we are learning really seriously about how to be safe in a practical environment.
This is really serious, but, you know, the children also have fun from their class. This is really important.
